The Heavy Burden Of Existentialism Album

Luc Lacerte: Masterer

Owen McGarry: Producer, Cover Artist

Three years in the making, the composition of Owen Payette McGarry’s The Heavy Burden of Existentialism has spanned three continents and five countries. In this piece, the four channels of the Nintendo gameboy dance and drone contemplatively to invoke bleak, nuanced landscapes evocative of the dynamism and malignant nature of South Pacific surrounding the composer on the cover. Within the somber waves of each piece are clandestine suggestions of classical beauty, presented fleetingly to beguile the supplicant listener. This ephemeral human quality ultimately culminates in the piece titled The Barrens with the addition of vocals performed Katie Greenwood Ross. However, even during these most unguarded and comparatively venerable moments, the humanity is buried, burdened and muddy, struggling to stay at the surface of the cold consuming torrent of two-bit force and as we listen, common sense tells us that our existence is but a brief crack of light between two eternities of darkness.

Haunted Coastlines LP

Fenn Macon: Producer

Luc Lacerte: Masterer

Belgian Man Records and Hear Now Records are excited to team up for the release of Fenn Macon’s new tape, Haunted Coastlines! Drawing on influences from Dream Pop, Emo, Footwork, and Post-Rock, Fenn blends these together with an increased emphasis on vocal manipulation and guitar work.

Welcome to the Fishbowl EP

If you had to ask Peter and Patrick what their music sounds like, they’d probably have a hard time putting their answer into words. As natural sound/touch synesthetes, chances are they’d much prefer to describe it in terms of feels. Or maybe just the things they hit with sticks to make silly noises.

Peter and his leporine familiar, Patrick, are MAYBEWISE, an exploration into the more visceral corners of the future bass scene, walking through a contemplative blur between abstract space and dark UK club. Welcome to the Fishbowl, released on the Belgian Man Records imprint on 5/31/14, is at once a culmination and deconstruction of 10 years of intake and output, finding a strange place where autonomic, UKG, and oldskool dubstep can all play together.

When not recording funny sounds in the park, Peter and Patrick can be found in the left part of Philadelphia.

Gloom Bap 12-Inch

Dephrase: Producer

Gloom Bap is a collection of sonic oddities Dephrase (Daniel Babai) juggled for about a year or so during a transformational time in his life. The entire collection consists of 7 tracks each taking you to a different part of the fruit punch Atari rainforest river. While this is a very eclectic and playful body of work, there is bitter and somber amongst the sweet. Dephrase describes it as “the diary of finding his sound.”

Special thanks to Alex Grey and the Transcendent Nation Foundation for letting us use a snippet of their audio on “Here Before Us.” You can hear the rest of their “Save the World” interview series at

Since Sixteen LP

Fenn Macon: Producer

Since Sixteen is a collection of songs that I’ve written and rewritten over the past five years of my life. It is a record about the search for security, home, friends, a stable relationship, and a better mental state. These songs have been the closest thing I’ve ever kept to a journal, the lyrics come from mantras that continually ran through my head as I’ve been growing and trying to find my place in the world. I’d like to think that I have things figured out, but I’m sure that I’ll look back at these years and realize that I was wrong about everything. When I was sixteen, I was in a band. By the end of my freshman year of college, all of my peers and I were making music on a laptop. As we’ve been exploring the electronic music realm, I’ve found myself increasingly drawn to the music of my past, on long walks and secret drives listening to old mixtapes filled with Death Cab and Brand New songs. I’ve been trying to find a way to marry the two styles in some form and bring the songs I’ve been writing on various pianos and guitars to life. This album couldn’t have been made without everyone in my life, and I want to extend a special thanks to Ailey for singing on †rain†racks//ceme†eries, Since Sixteen, and Hopscotch, and also to Marina for singing on Let It Die. I also want to thank Luc Lacerte for his amazing work mastering the record, Paul Puiia for artwork, Jasper Boyd for engineering the vocals, everyone at Belgian Man Records, and all my friends and family for supporting and putting up with me.

Sounds Good BB <3 LP

Nice Power: Producer

For really real, my attractive and urbane listener. Me and my friend Alex Meiers were walking along Paris minding our own biz one day when handsome gargoyles on the facade of Notre Dame, or maybe urban falcons–it’s hard to say, arched gracefully overhead and dropped the ableton files for Sounds Good BB <3 carefully into our hands. That’s exactly what happened.

Influenced by Brainfeeder and Soulection stuff, T!be, Dorian Concept, French House, experimental hip hop, sound art, etc. (also with a background in multi-instrumental musical theory); you can’t describe Nice Power because it’s from the future l0l. But you can hear it and it will make you happy! Damn, whp$hhhh!

We would love you to listen!

Much love,

Sam Balfus and Alex Meiers AKA Nice Power

High Adventure LP

Kuh-Lida: Producer

~A big city story of the one thrilling moment in a man’s life that can only be called High Adventure~

This new collection of fuzzed-out breaks and radio drama collages from the back catalog of Stereocure co-founder Kuh-Lida (aka Myles Emmons) sometimes reads more like a sound walk through his own thrift store than a beat tape. Veiled behind layers of dust and tape hiss, the veteran producer presents us with a sound world that he has created out of found objects and hazy imagination, shattered bits of magnetic tape and broadcasted nostalgia. Directing our senses through a maze of swerves and spin-outs at every turn, the music somehow fits together like a jigsaw puzzle, or a vinyl record chopped into a hundred pieces and reassembled with paint and peanut butter. Through thickets of glitch and throbbing blotches of rhythm, this A/B tape release is an auditory adventure from start to finish.

~Wherever you are, look around you. Watch, but don’t live it: this thing we call High Adventure~

Space Disco (Owen McGarry Remix) Remix

David Yanofsky: Cover Artist

Owen McGarry: Remixer

Owen McGarry’s new remix, violently birthed from the stems of RobotSexMusic’s spawn, will make forceful, tender love to your ear drums, first the right one, and then the other one.

This song will allow you to party harder, faster and more efficiently than humans.

Owen McGarry has seen colors with pigments darker than black, and has only ever experienced true love. He doesn’t have parents and is from the future.

If Owen McGarry could feel gratitude, he would express it for cheese cake, and for David Yanofsky’s art direction.

The Legend Of Beefwell LP

Tokyo Megaplex: Producer

Tokyo Megaplex is a 21 year old guy from just outside of Boston who makes weird music and silly cartoons. His first album of original music, (Real avant-garde Kanye shit. Seriously. Dead-ass.) was released a little over a year ago (September 2012) to critical acclaim.

A couple of months ago he decided to make an even better album. A year of production later, this is the result: 29 tracks, 45 minutes, the Legend of Beefwell is a tragic tale of a boy who begins his journey with nothing but a spoon and the clothes on his back, only to be soon after eaten to death by a scary dragon thing made of rocks.

The album features remixes by B∩MSTEAD, Ryan Ines, and Kuh-Lida.

A few Tiburoni regulars and some very special guests take part in the remix duties and to top it all off, the original track has been updated and treated to an amazing vocal addition from the one and only Reachout.

Liz Wood LP

Andrew Monks: Engineer

David Yanofsky: Photographer

Kittenmildew: Producer, Cover Artist

Luc Lacerte: Masterer

Liz Wood’s sound is unique and perhaps an acquired taste, but between the yodels and screeches her voice is sweet, with ukulele skills to match.

Based out of Massachusetts, Liz sells ukuleles at the oldest specialty toy shop in America. She can be found playing in the streets of Boston and Harvard Square.

Liz began singing in elementary school and was always inspired by choir music and techno. Even though she was able to hit the high notes, she chose to stay in the lower range when around her classmates because she did not want to seem “too girly.” It wasn’t until 8th grade when she got her first ukulele and began doing musical theater that she decided to experiment with her head voice and whistle register. She now has a very wide vocal range, and does not hesitate to belt it out.

In 2008 Liz began posting cover songs on YouTube under the username: kittenmildew. Her most recognized video was a cover of MIA’s Paper Planes with over 70,000 views. However she had to take down most of her covers due to copyright laws. After that she began to focus on writing her own music. In 2009 she got the chance to play a show in New York with fellow YouTuber and ukulele player: Danielle Ate The Sandwich. She wishes that her ukulele playing had been more on point for that particular show, and therefore now thrives on self-improvement.

Quote: “I never expected to get any good at the ukulele, I just wanted to show people I could sing a song. It’s a great treat to play a stringed instrument. As a child I watched my dad play the guitar and thought I’d never be able to do that.”

There’s no doubt Liz Wood is a talented individual with a bright future ahead of her. Find her on YouTube if you’d like to book a show or drop a line.

Megalopolis LP

A. Campbell Payne: Producer

Many electronic musicians (myself included) look to the post-industrial world for inspiration. When I wrote this piece, I was interested in exploring the concepts of urban sprawl, the mobile internet, highways, and cloud computing. Each track is a different movement of the piece, and each title takes the name of an urban center of the American Northeast, followed by one digit for the center’s population ranking, one digit for the order in which the movement was written, one letter for the movement’s pitch class, and four digits for the movement’s tempo in beats per minute.

Megalopolis was written during a bus trip from New York, NY to Boston, MA on an overcast day (02011.10.13).

The only software used during the writing process was Oliver Wittchow’s nanoloop. The original .nan files for each movement can be found at: To run these files, use nanoloop (available for Android and iOS), or the free nanoloop lite (iOS only).
