Before Belgian Man Records, Concord had ¡¡¡THE ZONE!!!. Founded by A. Campbell Payne, ¡¡¡THE ZONE!!! was a community of artists assembled around the idea of freedom: freedom to experiment musically, and freedom to share and remix music without restrictive licensing. Belgian Man Records was founded around these same ideals, with great inspiration from ¡¡¡THE ZONE!!!.
I’m absolutely thrilled to announce today that ¡¡¡THE ZONE!!! and Belgian Man Records have merged. Belgian Man has absorbed ¡¡¡THE ZONE!!!’s release catalogue, and will continue to follow in ¡¡¡THE ZONE!!!’s footsteps, supporting Concord’s experimental music scene.
The following 9 releases are originally from ¡¡¡THE ZONE!!!, released between 2006 and 2011, and are now available on Belgian Man Records.

such a jangle of meaningless noises had never been heard by human ears. there were sputtering and bubbling, jerking and rasping, whistling and screaming. there were the rustling of leaves, the croaking of frogs, the hissing of steam, the flapping of birds’ wings. the night was noisier than the day, and at the ghostly hour of midnight the babel was at its height.
